Summary
Glasgow City Council is launching a two-stage design contest for architects to propose redevelopment concepts for two prominent gap sites at Albert Cross in the historic East Pollokshields Conservation Area. Stage 1 requires anonymous submission of diagrammatic conceptual designs; three finalists will advance to Stage 2 to develop detailed proposals with cost plans and named design teams per RIBA Plan of Work 2020 standards. Description
Glasgow City Council (GCC) is initiating a landmark architectural design contest to redevelop two prominent gap sites at Albert Cross, situated within the historic East Pollokshields Conservation Area. These sites were formerly occupied by B-listed tenement blocks, which were tragically lost to fires in 2019 and 2020.
