Summary
The Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR), a federal Crown corporation located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, is seeking qualified vendors to supply, deploy, and support a refreshed data centre infrastructure. The scope encompasses servers, storage systems, and virtualization solutions to replace the museum's aging Microsoft Hyper-V–based hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI). The refreshed environment must deliver improved performance, scalability, resilience, and cost-effectiveness while aligning with sustainability and security objectives. The current environment consists of four Hyper-V HCI clusters totalling 20 nodes across compute and storage functions, supporting approximately 432TB of active storage out of 906TB available. The new solution must support diverse VM workloads including SQL Server, web services, SFTP, print, DMZ, and management systems, and must accommodate at least 7% annual compute growth and 10% annual storage growth over the next 5–7 years. The contract is anticipated to commence November 1, 2026, with a three-month transition period beginning August 1, 2026. The initial term is five years, with up to five optional one-year extensions at CMHR's discretion. Bidders must provide pricing under both a purchase model and a lease model, and must meet stringent mandatory technical and company qualification requirements including ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2 Type 2 certifications, and Veeam Backup integration.
