Summary

Universitätsklinikum Köln is upgrading the geothermal heating system at its Kerpener Straße facility in Cologne, Germany. The work involves replacing flat slide valves with ring piston valves in the geothermal well return lines, demounting and rebuilding measures on the technical systems, and installing custom-fabricated stainless steel adapter pieces. The project optimizes flow control within the geothermal network to improve performance when the new patient building connects to the system. Work runs from September 16 to December 18, 2026.
