Moosomin Dam: New Pressure Relief Wells & Earthworks

Moosomin Dam is located 12 kilometres south of the Town of Moosomin, SK on Pipestone Creek. The dam was constructed in 1954 by the Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration (PFRA).A series of 17 relief wells were drilled in the toe of the dam in 1955. The relief well materials of construction vary, and include the use of helcore, transite, no-corrode, and plywood piping.
