Evaluation of Export Initiative Environmental Protection Programme (2020–2025)

Summary

The German Federal Ministry for Environment, Climate Protection, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety seeks an independent evaluation of its Export Initiative Environmental Protection (EXI) programme. The evaluation will assess goal achievement, impact, and cost-effectiveness of the initiative, which has supported over 200 clean and green technology projects in approximately 100 developing and emerging countries since 2016. The scope covers 75 individual and joint projects with 94 sub-projects approved between 2020–2025, plus 12 country-specific modules implemented by GIZ. The evaluation builds on a 2021 baseline assessment and must account for recent programme developments including new hydrogen technology focus areas and investment promotion components.
