The National Research Council Canada has a requirement for the purchase of a 2×1 periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) waveguide mixer which will be used by the Photonics Devices group in a new experimental setup for the generation of squeezed states of light. The module will operate as an optical parametric amplifier (OPA) designed to combine two optical wavelengths inside a nonlinear integrated waveguide structure and amplify the signal wavelength (2x1 configuration).
