Summary
The University of Alberta Department is procuring a PromethION 24 DNA/RNA Sequencer from Oxford Nanopore Technologies to support research in epigenetics, microbial ecology, and DNA/RNA base modification analysis. The sequencer enables detection of DNA and RNA base modifications (5mC, 5hmC, 4mC, 6mA) and native RNA sequencing. Adaptive sampling capabilities allow real-time monitoring and selective enrichment for targeted genomic and microbiome research. ONT is the sole supplier of this proprietary technology, reagents, flow cells, and associated software.
Description
The Department recently looking for PromethION 24 DNA/RNA Sequencer to support research in epigenetics, microbial ecology and DNA/RNA base modification analysis. Oxford Nanopore Technologies(ONT) is the only supplier that meets the specific technical and research requirement of this project. ONT’s native sequencing technology enables comprehensive detection of DNA and RNA base modifications, including 5mC, 5hmC, 4mC, and 6mA, as well as native RNA sequencing. These capabilities are essential to ...
