Summary

DFO seeks coastal imaging services to map approximately 1,750 km of southern Nova Scotia coastline using ShoreZone Coastal Imaging and Habitat Mapping Protocol. The project will acquire high-resolution imagery and video data from Lobster Bay northward toward Halifax to expand existing coastal habitat datasets. Results will support the Canadian Coast Guard's Area Response Planning initiative and improve oil spill preparedness, planning, and response capabilities by providing geographically specific habitat information.

Description

Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) requires coastal imaging services in support of the Canadian Coast Guard's Area Response Planning (ARP) initiative under the Oceans Protection Plan (OPP) 2.0. The objective of this project is to apply imaging methodologies consistent with the ShoreZone Coastal Imaging and Habitat Mapping Protocol (Cook et al., 2017) to expand existing coastal habitat datasets in southern Nova Scotia.
